I'd never met Brian Deane before - a legend in football being the scorer of the first premier leage gial in 1992. He was gracious enough to allow me into his home and shared stories from his early years, and indeed his financial misdirection early in his professional career - something he says he tried to block out but was kind enough to elaborate on a little. Now a father and a fan of Padel, I enjoyed the insight he shared as well advice to current and future generations with an interest in sport. Sport is an opportunity to change your life, as it did for him.
